Practicalities
Here you can find information on various practical issues at Imagelab.
BOOKING SCHEDULES
As the user pressure on the Hermes clients at times is very high, you may wish to book time on one of the
clients beforehand to be certain of access. Note that you must occupy the computer within 30 minutes of your booking or it
will no longer be valid. AstraZeneca personel will always have priority on the az client.

These meetings (previously named "administrative meetings") are held once a month at 11.00 in the R43 conference room, and serve the purpose of keeping the SMILE users
up to date on practical matters in the lab. They are also the forum where users can voice their views on
possible improvements in the lab: requests for courses to be held, software to be installed or hardware expanded.
Everyone is welcome to join these meetings! Minutes from these meetings can be found below, in English only.

COMMUNICATIONS
Mailing list
At SMILE we maintain a mailing list for all users of the lab, to keep everyone updated on what is
going on at the lab. You will be added to this list by the lab manager, and may send out your own messages
to all participants.
Blog
The SMILE blog is located at http://smileki.blogspot.com/.
To read the blog you can
- actively go to the web address
- have an email sent to you each time something new is added
- have an email sent to you with all the day's posts rolled into one (sent once a day on those days when a new post has been made on the blog)
- have an email digest sent to you which summarizes the last few posts (sent once a day on those days when a new post has been made on the blog)
- get an RSS feed of the blog (click on the "Subscribe to…" link at the bottom of the blog page).
To have email or email digests sent to you, ask the lab manager to be added to the blog reader group.
Anybody can comment on a post on the blog. Just click on the "X comments" link at the bottom of the post, or click on the post headline in the right-hand list of contents. That's the easiest way
to read a blog post comment, too. (It is currently not possible to show a comment on the main page at blogspot).
You can also write posts on the page yourself, as long as you have a Gmail account. Ask the lab manager to be added as writer, and you will get an email confirmation (with a link that will help you set up a Gmail account in one minute in case you haven't got one). To post to the blog, log on to the smileki.blogspot page with your Gmail username and click on "Nytt inlägg".
